Element 4.1
Demonstrate effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills across a variety of instructional formats
Artifact: Bulletin Boards From EDU 256
Date: Winter 2012 During my field experience in a middle school I had the task of creating my own bulletin board to convey a message to the students. During this time students were learning about refraining from alcohol in health and physical education. The board has a slogan that states "Once you start to drink, your life will start ton sink!" and is accompanied with multiple facts scattered around the board. The bulletin board displays non-verbal communication with students which is important because as a teacher we are not always going to be around our students. Bulletin boards and signs are a great way to positively influence our students at all times. Also this helps my verbal communication because it is a visual aid that can help me explain why keeping away from alcohol is so important. Or if the bulletin board is about a skill being learned in class and the teacher is helping another student the board is a teaching aid. |
