Artifact: Collage Of Different Conferences and Professional Events
Date: 2009- Present Throughout my time spent at SUNY Cortland I have attended multiple mini conferences, state conferences, and other events through APEM (physical education majors club). All of these activities give me opportunities and allow me to congregate with others either in the profession or in the major with me. This gives me a chance to talk about what others have learned but most importantly what professionals are having success with in their classrooms. Physical education is a "copy cat" career in the sense that a base is laid and from there anyone can take that idea and build off of it. The building is what keeps physical education constantly changing and constantly current. To be an effective teacher I am an advocate for attending professional events so that we can bring our students the best physical education possible. The people that do not attend gatherings to stay current revert back to the same roll out the ball teacher. This is my reasoning for going to conferences and the reason I will continue to go. |
