Artifact: Teacher Work Sample Cognitive Assessment
Date: Spring 2012
During Spring of 2012 I had done some field work in a nearby elementary school where I was given the opportunity to plan and implement a lesson with assessments. I had been working with kindergarden students and assessed their abilities in all three domains cognitively, psychomotor, and affectively. The assignment gave me the chance to create an assessment that would be used and implemented in an actual class to see if it was successful. The lesson went well and I believe that my assessments were very accurate for the age group I was teaching.
My artifact met the standard directly because the assessment I administered was appropriate for the age group and was not excessively hard or easy. The reason I found this out was because the students did well on the test but were challenged. This is valuable to me as a teacher to show that I can adapt to my students and make assessments that are appropriate.
