Develop an effective behavior management plan
Artifact:Behavior and Management Plan For a Lab
Date: Fall 2011 For a lab where I taught Omnikin I was required to create a behavioral management plan. In my plan I explained what was important to me and the different steps that I would use if students were caught violating my rules. I preached about respect like every other class but my main focus was towards bullying. Physical Education is a prime spot for students to get bullied because everybody's skills are on display and people who struggle seem to become targets. This is completely unacceptable in my class and in any school that I teach in. Bullying is a terrible thing which pushes kids to extremes, this is the reason I go in depth about my behavioral plan if bullying is in the mix. I also discuss my three strike system, and in some of my labs I had to use the strike systems with students acting out. This plan is effective and is very useful to control a class. I use three strikes because I never want to kick anybody out of a class if it's not necessary. The point of physical education is to keep kids moving and you can not do that if they are in timeout or at the principals office. |
